Confidentiality of your files is a major concern at apa secretarial. We
have set our own strict rules to ensure that your work stays
confidential:
Upon receipt of your work we contact you to confirm its safe arrival.
Of course, we also contact you if we do not receive the work within a couple of days.
Your work never leaves our premises. We do not use outworkers nor send work abroad for completion.
Our computers are locked by passwords.
Files are individually locked by a password*, and each client has a unique password - supplied by us.
When returning work to you
via email your files are encrypted and password protected (please note,
however, some organisations' computers are set to not accept encrypted
and password protected files).
If we do not hear from you that you have received the files we will contact you to confirm safe receipt.
Backup copies of completed
work are kept on a separate PC not connected to the internet
- files are encrypted and passworded.
If you do not wish usto
keep a backup copy, then upon receiving written and signed instruction
from you, we will delete the files from our computer (we use
sophisticated software to ensure the file is completely erased - as
clearing the PC's "recycle bin" does not actually delete the file).
The only time we reveal your work to a third party is if you have given the authorisation for us to do so or we are legally required to.
* Passwords
We do not use the MS Word
password facility. This offers the most basic security only, and there
is a lot of software freely available on the internet that reveals
passwords set by MS Word.
Our software uses AES 256-bit encryption - considered by the US
Government to be strong enough to "Top Secret" level. See page 2,
